Vietnamese man sold his daughter, 13, to Chinese traffickers for $4,300 to pay for medical treatment
A Vietnamese father from the province of Nghệ An was sentenced to 14 decades in prison for promoting his daughter to human traffickers.
Lo Pho Pheng, 47, bought his 13-year-outdated organic daughter to a guy in China for about 150 million Vietnamese dong (around $6,550) when he lacked the cash to shell out for medical treatment for a coronary heart problem.
Pheng achieved with Lo Thi Cam, 35, in 2018 to propose advertising his daughter, who referred him to Moon Thi Xum, 46.
Xum and a guy determined as “Hong” took Pheng’s daughter to China to be offered off.
Pheng was capable to receive 100 million VND (about $4,367). Xum also acquired 7 million VND (around $306), and Cam acquired 13 million VND (close to $568).
Pheng’s daughter was in a position to escape back to Vietnam in Oct 2021 when she filed a denunciation of the criminal offense to the Investigation Law enforcement Agency in the Kỳ Sơn District Law enforcement.
In the courtroom, the defendants pleaded responsible to their crimes. Pheng said that he “did not consider straight” since of his absence of knowledge and poverty-stricken circumstance.
Xum was sentenced to 13 years in jail, though Cam was sentenced to 12 many years. Despite the fact that the target requested a lenient sentence for her father, he was sentenced to 14 several years in jail for “trafficking of a individual less than 16.”
