Home Remedies for Ear Infections and Earaches, Useful Remedies

The ear is a very sensitive organ; it is the house of one of the most important senses of the human body – the auditory sense. Due to its delicate nature, there are several problems that can occur with the human ear. One of the most common problems occurs when the ear gets infected. In severe cases, pus formation may occur. Such inflammations of the ear commonly occur in children.

Ear infections are more common in babies and younger children because the Eustachian tubes (the narrow passage way that connects the middle ear to the nose) are narrower than an adult or older child’s and, therefore, is easily blocked by fluid in the ear. Ear infections are also most likely to occur during a cold.

Even more effective than heat alone is a hot onion poultice. This is something you can make up at home quickly and easily. To make an onion poultice, heat ½ an onion in an oven or griller for a few minutes till hot. Wrap it in some cheesecloth or a clean cloth and apply it directly on the ear to allow the anti-infective fumes to work their way into the ear

Garlic can also be crushed and used for the earache by crushing a clove of garlic into one tsp of olive oil and then warm to blood temperature. Using a dropper, a few drops applied into the ear with serve as a local antibiotic. (Never do this home remedy if experiencing any severe pain or have a perforation in your ear drum. Garlic solution should never be boiled or attempted to be put in your ear if overheated, as this could cause sever burns. Consult with your physician on any new therapies you are not familiar with.)

What makes Anistil different is that, in one shot, it gives your body what it needs to treat the infection and relieve the symptoms, while the infection is being killed off by your now powerful immune system (thanks to Anistil). There are anti-inflammatory properties that address and eliminate discomfort and, unlike prescriptions, you don’t need more drugs to counter the side-effects. Few ear infection remedies really equate to antibiotics, as most are viral and a strong immune system can eradicate them.

A hot water bottle wrapped in a towel also makes a comforting pillow for an aching. Warm up an oven-safe plate, wrap it in a towel, and rest your aching ear right on it. The plate should be warm and comforting, not hot. Warm few drops of olive oil in a spoon. Using the dropper, put 2-3 drops in each ear after the oil has cooled down. Puncture a piece of garlic and pour the juice in the ear. Garlic being a natural antibiotic will help to take the pain away.

Place several drops of garlic juice directly into the ear using an eyedropper. This will help ease the pain. Also, because garlic contains a natural antibiotic it is extremely effective for earaches caused by infection.
