Four All Natural Antibiotic Herbs

Many people already know that all natural herbs can be quite healthy for them. There are herbs which help with high blood pressure, herbs which curb your appetite, herbs which help with balancing out your bodies insulin levels and more.

Many people do not realize just how healthy and helpful herbs can be though. In fact, most people who use an herb for something, do not realize that same herb is quite useful for a variety of other health issues. And many people do not realize just how much more is actually out there, at inexpensive prices, over the counter.

There are several herbs for instance, which work as powerful infection fighting antibiotics. Let's briefly explore a few of those …

1. Garlic. Since garlic is a very popular herb for use in blood pressure problems, many people already know it's quite healthy for you. What you might not know though, is that garlic is a powerful infection fighting herb.

The main component of garlic is called allicin. This is what makes garlic have such a strong odor, but one milligram of this compound is said to be as potent as 15 milligrams of standard Penicillin.

A serious mistake many people make though, is to buy garlic in an "odorless" pill or capsule form. These products which have no odor also have little to no effectiveness on your health. Because allicin is the key part of garlic, and that's the part that causes the odor, removing the odor also removes the ingredient you needed in the first place.

2. Golden Seal. Another very powerful natural antibiotic, this is an herb not many people have heard of. Golden Seal comes in pills and capsules too, and you can buy either ground root versions, or ground leaf and stem versions. The root variety is the strongest for infection fighting.

Golden Seal is also a natural source of insulin though, so anyone who is hypoglycemic – aka you have low blood sugar problems – should not take Golden Seal.

3. Echinacea. This herb has become quite well known and popular in the last five to ten years. It's another excellent infection fighting herb, particularly for lymph gland infections and problems.

Echinacea is also wonderful to take when you feel a cold or the flu coming on. It will not usually prevent the cold or flu, but it does tend to reduce the severity of your symptoms, and often it helps make the experience last much shorter than normal.

4. Kelp. Kelp is a natural herb which has a salty taste, and can even be used in place of table salt for food seasoning. The powerful infection fighting properties of Kelp come from it being a natural source of iodine, and iodine helps your body kill infections and bad bacteria.

Kelp is also excellent for helping to regulate your thyroid, which is part of why it works so well when there's an infection in your body. The Kelp helps your thyroid release extra iodine into your system for fighting the infection.

Now this is just a small summary of the powerful health properties these herbs have. There are many more benefits each herb offers and there are many more, lesser known herbs available for keeping you and your family healthy.
